Prior to joining CrossFit Central I was a wreck. As a former Marine, I knew what I was capable of in the past. I was 265 lbs and 26 percent body fat. At 6’0”, I was labeled as obese by my doctor. This wasn’t quite rock bottom, but it was close. I was an athlete in my former life and had allowed myself to get out of shape after spending 6 long years on the couch. I needed to make a change and I knew that I would need a challenge to keep myself interested. I visited some other gyms in the area and didn’t feel as if I were more than another subscriber.

After coming across CrossFit Central in my search I saw a familiar face from an old success story in 2014. I knew that if my former teammate from UT had success with CrossFit Central then chances were pretty high for me as well. I walked into the Burnet location and was introduced to Carey Kepler. Within a week, all of the coaches knew my name and I was hooked on the community, the challenge, and the momentum.

Since joining CrossFit Central I have made a ton of new friends who are beyond supportive. People who I never would have met otherwise have become an important part of my daily and weekly life. They are my family. As a result of the programming and support system at CrossFit Central I have lost 45 lbs., 11% body fat, and at least 7 inches from my hips and waist. In November of 2017, I was able to fit into pants that were previously too small for me in 2007.

I know this sounds cliché but it’s true. I didn’t know what was possible, or really what I was capable of until I joined CrossFit Central. I true believe that we have only scratched the surface of what is possible in my fitness journey. CrossFit has also motivated me to reevaluate the type of life I want to live. I want to live a great story.

Recently I have begun to seek out mentors in my business life that I wouldn’t have prior. I feel more confident, assertive and disciplined. Each time I fail, I’m reminded that I just need to start again. Each and every time we fail, a new opportunity to succeed is created.

I have also enjoyed renewed energy when playing with my son. Having the stamina to keep up with him has made a huge impact on our relationship. I feel as thoug, our quality time has improved beyond measure. I am very thankful for that.
