I had always been an active person, I grew up playing sports and was heavily into fitness back in my military days. Once I graduated college and started a business I let myself go for a few years. Before I knew it I was the heaviest and most out of shape I had ever been in. I was semi-frequently going to the gym but wasn’t very motivated once I got there and ended up just chatting with buddies and procrastinating the entire time. I knew I needed something that would keep me focused and motivated. I knew the challenge and intensity of CrossFit would keep me focused and the competitiveness would keep me motivated; I was instantly hooked.

Since joining CrossFit Central, the biggest change I have seen is the level of fitness I’ve been able to achieve. I’m doing things that I never thought I could do. Yes I’m stronger, leaner and healthier than I’ve ever been and that’s great, but nothing compares to the things I’ve done in the gym. I’m constantly surprising myself whether it’s consistently hitting big PR’s or those moments when something that’s been hard becomes easy.

A Few PRs
Lost 20 lbs.
Lost 14.5% body fat (went from 23.5% body fat to 9% body fat)
Deadlift: 405lb
Front Squat: 275
Backsquat: 310
Squat clean: 225

For me, putting myself in a situation where day in and day out I’m being forced to push outside of my comfort zone has impacted me in a way that is almost indescribable. It’s a feeling that I have been craving since I was in the military and has impacted so many other aspects of my life.

I’ve always been the type of person that runs towards the chaos, regardless of consequence, putting myself out there and not being afraid to fail. I think doing so has defined me as a person. I crave the struggle because of the result, the self-growth and knowledge that is gained is so rewarding. With CrossFit I’m able to get that daily. It’s helped me seek it out more in business and take on new challenges with the upmost confidence.
