I initially joined CrossFit Central in November of 2020. When I looked at the website I recognized the name and was immediately attracted to what was offered. After riding my bike to check out the facility I was sold and joined the next day.

When I joined CrossFit Central I was what I like to call the "skinny fat guy." I was puffy with noodle arms. I was in a bad emotional and mental state. I had moved to Austin in July of 2020 and the world was shut down. I came here to write and perform music and there really was nothing going on. So, for months I spent way too much time by myself, gained weight and was depressed. I joined CrossFit Central to somehow pull myself out of that state.

Since I became a member my ability to accomplish my personal goals outside of the gym has exploded. I usually go to the gym four to five times-a-week. The workouts are physically and mentally demanding. The realization that those workouts will be the hardest part of my day makes tackling everything else a breeze.

Secondly, in the past year I have lost 15 pounds which included losing a ton of fat and gaining muscle. I can do things in class that I never dreamed possible a year ago.

Lost 15 lbs and 7.3% Body Fat

Finally, I gained so many friends. You find that if you attend the same class every day that you see the same people. Everybody pulls for each other while in class. We also laugh a lot. The founders of CrossFit Central have cultivated a feeling of family at the gym.

Coming to CrossFit Central is really the best part of my daily routine. I see my friends, I tackle a workout and feel accomplished.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention how much the entire staff gives to the athletes in the gym. Even if they aren't coaching my class, they are always readily available to give advice on how to improve in movement, nutrition etc. The coach of my class, Chris Hartwell, brings it every day with enthusiasm. Without his help I wouldn't have made half the gains of the past year.
