Thursday, 02.09.12: Confidence Through Strength

Lean Lifting shirts are here!  These shirts are perfect for Febraury weather at the gym.  This Alternative Apparel, soft and slouchy pullover makes wearing a sweatshirt look stylish!  The dark grey is accented with "Lean Lifting" in purple on the neckline and "Confidence Through Strength" in white on the back waistline.  These shirts are $30 and can be purchased in our lobby or online.   Check out Vicki's success with the Lean Lifting 30 Day Challenge!  She lost 7 pounds, an inch off her waiste and is so happy about the results she continuing on her own!

Wednesday, 02.08.12: Kettlebell Underground Challenge

Saturday, March 10th is your chance to showoff your kettlebell skills.  RedBlack Gym and Kettlebell Underground present the 2nd annual Kettlebell Underground Challenge.  Coach Chris Hartwell and Coach Randal Setzler have created three Kettlebell WODs sure to test your fitness and skill.  This event is great for anyone with Kettlebell or CrossFit experience.  We dare to enduce a rivalry between Kettlebell athletes and indoor CrossFit athletes.  Come prove that your training is superior and take the title!  Last year our friends at Punch Gym came and dominated both the male and female categories.  We love the community involvement and invite our fellow athletes to come participate.  Our trophy is sure to inspire your workouts and make you proud to use a kettlebel!  This challenge is open to the public!

Tuesday, 02.07.12: Fad Diets to Paleo Betty

Nicole lost 26 pounds, 12.2% body fat & 5 dress sizes

"Since joining CrossFit Central, I have actually achieved the body I’ve always wanted – strong, lean, and feminine.  At my first body comp with Coach John Del Peral, we discussed my aggressive fat-loss goals and he challenged me to 30 days of super-strict nutrition coupled with CrossFit WODs.  With Coach JDP’s help, I reprogrammed my brain, gut and taste buds to love the Paleo lifestyle.

CrossFit Central has given me the courage to try things I never thought I could do. I remember standing with Coach JDP under the pull-up bar during my goal-setting and I was terrified to even jump up and grab the bar! I figured I’d be so weak that I would just fall right back off. Three months and I could do 10 unbroken!

I’m applying this newfound courage to all areas of my life - whether it’s having a hard parenting conversation, tackling a new project at work, or following my passion. Monday, 02.06.12: Champion Mindset

Congratulations Moni!  During the last meeting of Champion Mindset, Moni set a goal of running a 5K for the first time.  As of Wednesday, she had no idea which race to take on or when it might be.  Moni quickly got into action and on Saturday complete her first 5K.  Moni ran in The Color Run with a few of her friends.  The Color Run participants trekked through miles of mud and lots of color expolosions.  As you can see, Moni picked a really fun race to make her first.  Congratulations Moni, way to put action in front of your fear to accomplish your goals! #Choose2Be

Sunday, 02.05.12: Growing Is Living

Six weeks ago several of our coaches began a Super Squat program with Strictly Strength Founder, Travis Holley.  A project that began as an opportunity to work on squats and build physical strength has developed into much more.

"In addition to that, not every week is considered an "On-Week".  We've all been there.  Things just are flowing the way that you would like, but what we've learned is the invaluable lesson of being able to flip the switch.  To turn your mind off and focus on one thing for a specific purpose, knowing full well that it will be the hardest thing you do until next Friday.  This ability to focus your mind, body, spirit and the combined energy from all three has been a truly spiritual experience for me.
The gym is where I connect with myself.  The gym is where I connect with others.  The gym is where I grow, where I learn from my mistakes and build upon them to become stronger on all levels of being human."
