Friday, 05.18.12: Training To Have FUN!

Relentless Coach Adam Martin is switching things up!  As summer approaches, Adam is focusing his training on what he knows to be fun.  With a lifelong love of traveling and outdoor adventures, Adam is preparing to take on a series of Adventure Races and wants you to join him.

"I remember being interested in adventure races many years ago, but not having the time to enter or train because of my commitment to rugby and the Army. Over the years on active duty I managed to complete one adventure race, one half marathon, and two triathlons. I am about to do the Spartan Race next week and am really looking forward to it.  I also really enjoyed training Bruce for the GoRuck Challenge.  Thinking about these two events has brought me to the conclusion that I should focus on training other people for these obstacle course races.....

....With all the great memories I have of obstacle courses, I want to share that joy with others. They are definitely more fun with a little technique and knocking out a challenging obstacle with ease is a great feeling. If you want to train for one of these challenges or sign up for the Army, send me an email!"   Read More

Thursday, 05.17.12: Fight For Air Climb

This Saturday, Coach Megan Parsons will be racing up the Frost Bank tower for the 3rd year in a row at the American Lung Association's Annual Fight for Air Climb. Megan has finished in the top of her category and even took home 1st place overall for the women last year. This year, she has decided to kick it up a notch by joining the many Austin-area firefighters who race, by wearing full firefighter gear - minus the tank - as she races! The extra weight and bulk of the suit will be a new challenge that Megan is excited to take on.

Learn about Megan's personal connection to the fight against lung cancer and her reasons for participating in this event year after year in her post here.

Help Megan reach her fundraising goal of $300 by donating HERE. Donations will need to be received by this Friday! Megan will represent the CrossFit Central & Relentless community well on Saturday morning. We are proud of her for taking on this fun challenge in support of a cause that is near and dear to her heart! GO MEGAN!!
