I have been a member at CrossFit Central for a year and three months and it has truly become my home. I am so thankful to God for giving me a family in this gym. I love all the coaches and I genuinely appreciate everything they have done for me. The community and the coaches are my favorite part of this gym hands down! They are such a large part of why I love going to Central so much!
I did plenty of research when looking for CrossFit gyms and what CrossFit was, but what actually peaked my interest in Central were the Success Stories! I read some of them before joining and found them motivating! Then, the first person I talked to at the gym was from Louisiana (I moved from Louisiana to Austin) so it was like a sign from God ;)
This year, I am most proud of surpassing 200 lbs on my deadlift and getting a snatch with proper form. My mental health has improved tremendously and my self esteem - how I treat myself - has improved as well.
I have created strong connections with other athletes that I love very much!! My self confidence improved and my mental strength got so much better. I found myself and I’m learning to love myself in ways that I haven’t in a while. I was a swimmer (league) when I was little and did cross country in high school, so was not new to working out, but hadn’t found the motivation to keep a consistent schedule on my own. I have always been disciplined in other areas of my life, but I have struggled with fitness discipline when life got difficult, or pulled my attention away. Since CrossFit Central, I haven’t stopped. I have been so consistent and disciplined when it comes to working out 6 days a week; and sometimes doubling workouts because it has become fun to work hard! I have enjoyed learning to prioritize CrossFit as well as recovery the best I can and most importantly, learning to have a better relationship with food has become easier with the Central staff and community by my side!
