“Gabby got a taste of success and hasn’t looked back. She never misses and finds a way to get work done, even if she has an injury or is limited in mobility. She has transformed her body, which shows with the confidence she exudes.”
— Coach Zach Thiel
I have been with Central since 2014 because my wife, Jess Powers, started coaching there.
I have always had an active lifestyle. Growing up, I was in martial arts, horseback riding, and gymnastics, among other things. But I had started to lift weights in Nebraska at Jess's previous gym and really discovered my love for that. I love My feeling of accomplishment early in the day. It helps set the rest of my day up for success.
With Central in my life, I enjoy being able to check something off my to-do list every time I come. I also really enjoy how strong and capable I feel after completing a particularly hard workout. I usually surprise myself with what I am able to accomplish while in class, and it has helped me re-design how I see myself and my capabilities. I am proud of being consistent in the gym and building strength. One of the best things though is the friendships that come with showing up consistently. There is so much support in class and the perfect amount of smack talking to help you push through your self-imposed walls. The unrelenting support from all directions is really amazing! The journey has not been linear and because I have some medical limitations it can feel daunting. The coaches are always willing to help me modify so I can still get in a great workout while also pushing myself physically. Coming to classes has really become one of my favorite parts of the day!
