“Andrew is consistent and always pushes himself to improve. He puts in extra work to develop his skills so he can push harder in the WODs.”
— Coach Zach Thiel
I began CrossFit in 2018 in Florida but took a break when I moved to Austin in 2019. It wasn’t until 2024 that I joined CrossFit Central Burnet. From the start, the community stood out, was very supportive, welcoming, and genuinely invested in helping each other grow.
I arrived during a difficult chapter of my life, and CC quickly became the hour of my day where I could step away from everything and just focus on moving, breathing, and showing up. Trading stress for sweat turned out to be far more effective than I expected.
The coaches and classmates have had a tremendous impact on me. Their encouragement helped me achieve things I never imagined, including handstand push-ups , which I previously assumed required circus credentials. Daily life feels easier now: more energy, more clarity, and somehow more time, which I won’t question too closely.
The community events are a highlight as well, it’s always fun seeing everyone outside the gym, enjoying tacos instead of barbells.
CrossFit Central Burnet has made a meaningful and positive difference in my life, and I’m grateful to be part of this community.
