I noticed an improvement with my running within 6 weeks. I believe this is due to the cross training I receive at CrossFit Boot Camp. With the amount of core training Boot Camp offers, I have become a stronger runner. Specifically, I ran my fastest Turkey Trot this past November at a 7 minute mile pace (last year I completed the same race at an 8 minute mile pace). Recently, I completed the 3M Half Marathon in 1:38 (7:30 pace) which I have not done in 9 nine years.

Sneak Peek: 2008 Success Stories

 

 

Before beginning CrossFit Central Programs, Susannah was nearly 80 pounds into her weight lose journey. She came to CrossFit Central roughly 7 months ago and has since lost over 30 pounds, 20 inches, and over 14% body fat.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Since joining CrossFit Central Susannah has taken on many challenges and has surprised herself with what she is capable of. Susannah took on the Spartan 300 Challenge and came in 1st place in the Intermediate Division!

After the challenge she wrote "I had seen the Spartan Challenge video and read about it online and was more than confident that it was not for me. There was no way I was at the point where I would be able to participate in something that looked so intense and difficult." But her coach, Zachary Thiel, convinced her that she could participate in the challenge and that it would help her take her CrossFit training to the next level.

"CrossFit pushed me beyond my comfort zone and has helped me become healthier in all aspects of my life. I have seen significant improvements in my stamina and strength during workouts as well as in my everyday life. Not only has [CrossFit] helped me to become physically stronger, but it has really pushed me mentally as well. I no longer look at 50 box jumps as impossible or think "You want me to do what?" I actually look forward to those challenges now as opposed to giving up before I even started. Are the workouts still difficult? Of course, but worthwhile things in life are rarely easy."

Susannah plans to continue pushing herself in CrossFit Central programs and setting and obtaining new goals. "I know that the things I have learned and continue to learn from the people at CrossFit Central will stick with me for the rest of my life and have undoubtedly changed me for the better."
