Julie's Story
julie-bp1rev2.jpgTen months ago I was 80 pounds overweight, fatigued, stressed, and had very low self-esteem. I never wanted to go clothes shopping or to any social events with my husband; and keeping up with three children all under the age of ten was a challenge. I was greatly concerned about the role model I was for my children as well as the girl scout troop I lead. It was very difficult to guide these young girls on topics of healthy living and body image when I wasn't taking my own advise. Both of my parents had limited mobility due to their weight and both were recently diagnosed as Type 2 diabetic. I was almost convinced that my weight issue was hereditary and I was headed down the same path.

I had tried many different programs from memberships at gyms to the latest fad diet and nothing worked. One day a friend of mine asked me to join a boot camp with her. With the support of my husband and friends I joined CrossFit Central's boot camp on February 7th, 2007.

Since joining CrossFit Central's Boot Camp I have lost over 60lbs., 55 inches, and dropped 16% body fat! I have more energy and my self-esteem has improved. I've been able to accomplish many things this year that I had never tried before. I ran in my first 5K at the Lance Armstrong Live Strong and also the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure!

My goals today are to join a CrossFit class at CrossFit Central, get and stay below 20% body fat, run a 5K in 20 minutes, run the 10K without stopping, compete in the Danskin Triathlon in April, and climb the rock tower faster than all of my girl scouts!
