Kate Singleton is a champion on the soccer field and in life. Nearly one year after a car accident that broke her back she signed a scholarship to play soccer at the University of Arkansas. Outside of her sport specific training at Westlake High School, Kate took on training at CrossFit Central in January. "This type of training was definitely different from soccer training. It is more total body conditioning. Since starting CrossFit training I've gotten stronger and a lot faster!" PowerPlant Athletics, or PPA Training, is a sports focused fitness program designed to elevate performance in both team and individual sports. Whether the sport is football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, or cross country running - PowerPlant Athletics is designed to elevate a young athletes strength, endurance, power, speed and agility, and overall fitness level. This type of training can be applied to all sports.
Max, a collegiate swimmer at the University of Missouri, trained with PowerPlant Athletics before heading off to his freshman year in college. Max saw a big improvement in his fitness level outside of the water. PPA training "gave me a good strength base and technique going into my freshman year at Missou. Being fit outside of the water definitely helped my speed and endurance in the pool." His future goals are to continue to increase his strength and flexibility as well as his overall focus in the water. PPA Training elevates the strength of a team by instilling values of what it takes to be a championship both on and off the field. Cohesive bonds are formed between players by working together toward a common goal.
In June Caroline will head of to Albuquerque to play basketball for the University of New Mexico. She is a shooting guard and is striving to be a starter to be a go-to player on the team. "PowerPlant training involves a lot of explosive movements and interval training. Since I started, I've noticed a big improvement on my sprints and I can touch the rim every time I go up! I used to only be able to touch the rim every once in a while." This May your young athletes can try out a PowerPlant workout and see what it's all about! On May 30th at 9:30am PPA Training will hold a workout open to boys and girls ages 10-14. Details on how to sign up will be posted on CrossFitCentral.Com one week prior to this workout. PowerPlant Athletics will hold strength and conditioning camps this August for young athletes ages 10-18. |
